Giro virtual - Giro 2020 - virtual The virtual Giro was played out from Saturday 18 April until Saturday 9 May 2020. The alternative Italian Grand Tour featured finales of the road race. Both men's pro-teams en women's pro-teams were competing.

Jakob Fuglsang wins uphill finish stage 6

Jakob Fuglsang wins the 6th stage of the Virtual Giro almost 1 minute ahead of Alessandro Pessot with Alexey Lutsenko in third. Katia Ragusa takes the spoils in the women's race

Riders

The virtual Giro d'Italia featured both men's teams and women's teams. All teams were allowed two entries per stage.

Route

The virtual Giro d'Italia was a race with an elevation gain of almost 5,000 metres. Which was spread over seven short stages that added up to 167.8 kilometres. The virtual version of the Italian Grand Tour served six finales of the road race.

Robert Gesink wins uphill finish stage 5

Robert Gesink wins the 5th stage of the virtual giro ahead of Jakob Fuglsang and Steven Kruijswijk, while Erica Magnaldi takes the spoils in the women's race

Wright and Longo Borghini win stage 4

Young Fred Wright outclimbed Gorka Izagirre with 2 minutes and Rafael Valls with 3 minutes in the 4th stage of the virtual Giro. Elisa Longo Borghini was the first women after the 15.5 kilometres finish climb to Madonna di Campiglio.
