Dubai Tour 2018 Route Stage 5: Skydive Dubai - City Walk

Saturday, 10 February 2018 - At 129 kilometres, the 5th and last stage of the 2018 Dubai Tour is entirely played out within the perimeters of Dubai City. Expect the sprinters to detonate the fireworks one last time. Last year, Marcel Kittel powered to victory at the City Walk.

The Dubai City Walk is a huge shopping mall at the intersection of Al Wasl and Al Safa Road. The place saw the first Dubai's Tour arrival in 2017 when, as said, Marcel Kittel outsprinted the pack. He had no need to win time as the 4th stage - to the Hatta Dam - had been cancelled. In 2015 and in 2016 though, the last stage was decisive. In successive order, Cavendish and Kittel sprinted to the win, thus restoring lossed time on the Hatta Dam and taking the overall win. We can expect a battle for time bonuses in 2018 too.

The closing stage is a criterium within the perimetres of Dubai City. The first three riders on the finish line take time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprint at kilometre 72.9 and at kilometre 102 bring 3, 2 and 1 seconds.

Elia Viviani is leading the 2018 Dubai Tour 2 seconds ahead of Magnus Cort and 4 seconds ahead of Sonny Colbrelli.
