   La Vuelta Vuelta opens with a thrilling ITT on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Brandon McNulty wins the race Atlantic Ocean 2 seconds ahead of Mathias Vacek and Wout van Aert.

3. Vuelta 2024 Route stage 1: Lisbon - Oeiras

   Saturday 17 August - The Vuelta a España opens with an individual time trial along the mouth of the Tagus River. The riders set off from Lisbon and finish 12 flat kilometres later in in Oeiras.
