    Philippe Gilbert won the eventful 17th stage on La Vuelta. He outgunned Sam Bennett in Guadalajra to take his second win in this Vuelta. Primoz Roglic holds on to El Rojo, while Nairo Quintana wins minutes.

    Stage 17 is the only race on this Vuelta with a distance of more than 200 kilometres. Obviously, it is also the longest race. Although not entirely flat, the distance is the most challenging aspect, so a bunch sprint is the most likely outcome.
