   Saturday, 12 July – The 8th stage of the Tour de France takes the riders from Saint-Méen-le-Grand to Laval. The 174.1-kilometre route is virtually flat.

   Stage 8 of the Tour packs in 1,700 metres of climbing, which is all gently dispersed across the route. With gradients never steeper than 3.8%, it would take an unlikely twist for the sprinters not to be battling it out in Laval.
