   While attacker Dylan Teuns outsprints Giulio Ciccione for the stage honours, the GC battle ignites on La Planche des Belle Filles. Title defender Geraint Thomas is the first GC rider at the top and Ciccone is the new leader.

   The 2nd stage of the Tour de France serves a team time trial on an undulating course. The race is all the more interesting as the battle for the yellow jersey is raging in the background.

   Thursday 11 July - The 6th stage of the Tour de France brings the first summit finish of this edition. The final haul up is the steep and partly unpaved La Planche des Belles Filles, while the 160.5 kilometres route serves a total of seven climbs.
