Tour de France 2014: Kadri soloes to victory, Nibali still in lead

Saturday July 12th, 2014 - In 161 kilometres cover the distance between Tomblaine and Gérardmer. In the last 25 kilometres the ride explodes with a finale in three climbs including a steep top finish. Blel Kedri is the sole survivor of the break and takes the stage, whilst Contador, Nibali and Porte are the best of the GC men.

Saturday, July 12th – a 161 kilometre ride, leaving Tomblaine and finishing in Gérardmer. A flat stage before 3 tough climbs in the last 20 kilometres and the first summit finish of the Tour.

Tour de France 2014 Favourites Stage 8: 3 climbs in the finale to suit the puncheurs

A very spicy finale today after a flat build up. Three climbs follow in quick succession, the last a 1.8 kilometre ascent with a healthy 10.3% average gradient. The second climb features a section at 16%. It could be one for the puncheurs with the GC men staying well alert.

Stage 8 in the 2014 Tour de France heads through the Vosges Mountains and shows the first serious climbs. The first 135 kilometres are more or less flat and then 3 cols lay waiting. The last 25 kilometres are going up and down with no flat in between. Promising ride with a short and steep closing climb!
