   Simon Carr initiates the breakaway on the first climb of the day. He drops his last companion Sergio Higuita on the Passo del Vetriolo to solo to victory. Juan Pedro López stays in the lead of the general classification.

2. Tour of the Alps 2023: Carr solos to triumph, Geoghegan Hart seals GC win

   Simon Carr attacks from the breakaway on the last climb of the day. The Briton opens up a 1.30 minute lead and he solos to triumph in the last stage of the Tour of the Alps. Tao Geoghegan Hart seals the overall victory ahead of Hugh Carthy and Jack Haig.
