Giro 2025: Harper wins epic stage, Yates takes the GC

Breakaway rider Chris Harper drops Alessandro Verre on the gravel section of the Colle delle Finestre, while Simon Yates launches his attack on the lower slopes. His team mate Wout van Aert waits for him on the descent, and the pair race to the finish together. Isaac Del Toro and Richard Carapaz throw the Giro away by marking each other too closely, and the overall victory goes to Yates.

Saturday, 31 May – The final mountain stage of this year’s Giro spans 205 kilometres. Featuring climbs up the Colle del Lys and the partly unpaved Colle delle Finestre, the races reaches its climax on the 8-kilometre ascent at 5.9% to Sestrière.
