   Mathieu van der Poel powers into the first maglia rosa on the climb to Visegrád Citadel. The Dutchman wins the 1st stage ahead of Biniam Girmay and Pello Bilbao. Obviously, he is the first GC leader on the 2022 Giro.

   Friday 6 May - The 2022 Giro d'Italia kicks into gear with a flat stage of 195 kilometres with a punchy finish. The riders set off from Budapest to finish on a puchy climb to the castle of Viségrad.
