At 40.5 kilometres, stage 9 in the Giro d'Italia is a rain-marked individual time trial on rolling roads. Early starters enjoy the advantage of racing on dry roads. Roglic is one of them and he wins the race. Gianluca Brambilla holds of Bob Jungels and he retains the leaders jersey.

Sunday, May 15, 2016 – Stage 9 of the 2016 Giro d'Italia brings a 40.5 kilometres individual time trial in the hills of Toscane. Amidst the vine-yards of the Chianti region the course leads from Radda to Greve. No unbearable steepness, yet the route is going up and down without respite.

Out of the three ITT's in this year's Giro the hilly time trial of stage 9 is by far the longest. At 40.5 kilometres, the course is rolling through beautiful Toscane. Last year, Kiryienka powered to victory on a similar, albeit longer parcours.
