Giro 2015 Stage 16: Landa 2nd win in a row, Contador cements GC lead

Stage 16 is a delicacy for mountain goats reaching its zenith with the feared Mortirolo. At that climb the race explodes with an impressive catch up by Contador after he punctured earlier. Along with Landa and Kruijswijk El Pistolero is in charge from that moment on. With 4 kilometres left Landa leaves his companiond and solos to the win and second plance overall. Contador cements his GC lead.

Tuesday, May 26, 2015 - The 16th stage is 175 kilometres of racing between Pinzolo and Aprica, containing five climbs. The last ascent is to be taken twice, flanking the monster climb up the Passo del Mortirolo.

Giro 2015: Stage 16 Favourites – Escapees or GC men

Stage 16 features five climbs, evenly distributed over the route. Could be the strongest of the early escapees takes the win home, or else it will be up to the GC men on the closing climb(s).
