1. Giro 2014 Report Stage 9: Weening wins from breakaway

   It keeps getting better for Orica-Greenedge on this Giro. Pieter Weening attacked out of the breakaway with 20 kiometres remaining, winning the stage after a 2-up sprint with Malacarne. Evans stays in pink.

2. Giro 2014 Route stage 9: Lugo – Sestola

   Sunday, May 18 – Over 172 kilometres, stage 9 travels from Lugo to Sestola. Flat in the first half, hilly in the second and a summit finish in store at an altitude of 1,528 metres.

3. Giro 2014: Stage 9 Favourites: Another day of climbing

   The 172 kilometre ride from Lugo to Sestola starts flat with 3 climbs late in the stage including the long drag to the finish line. Cyclingstage is going to gamble and say it could be a day for a large breakaway to contest the finish.

4. Giro 2014: Mountains in stage 9: i.e. Finish at Passo del Lupo (Sestola)

   The opening of stage 9 fairly relaxed but as is becoming typical to this Giro, the latter part of the stage contains all the climbing. Three cols and another summit finish today at 1,532 metres.
