1. Giro 2014 Stage 17 report: Pirazzi outsprints his breakaway companions

   Stefano Pirazzi won the 17th stage of the Giro d'Italia, attacking the initial 25 man breakaway group and then winning the 5 man sprint at the finish. No major GC changes with the peloton having something of a rest day.

   Wednesday, May 28th – Following the mountain stages of the last 2 days, this day looks like a sprinter’s dream despite the tricky ‘Muro’ with 20 kilometres left to ride.

   Stage 17 takes the riders from Sarnonico to Vittorio Veneto. Theoretically the route is flat, but it gives some hurdles that makes for compelling racing. Especially the Muro in the finale.
