Brabantse Pijl 2025: Favourites

The Brabantse Pijl underwent a route change four years ago. Since then, the finish has been situated on a long, draggy false flat after the S-Bocht climb in Overijse. This year’s edition is quite a bit shorter, but the number of climbs remains more or less the same. And the finale is identical to last year’s.

In the first edition after the route change, Pidcock outsprinted fellow attackers Van Aert and Trentin. In 2022, the false-flat finish served as a red carpet for Sheffield, who quietly slipped away from a lead group featuring Evenepoel, Wellens, Cosnefroy, Barguil, Turner and Pidcock in the final 4 kilometres. Two years ago, it came down to a showdown between Godon and Healy, who had shaken off their breakaway companions in the last lap. In the sprint, the Frenchman proved far too fast for the Irishman.

Last year, after Marijn van den Berg had burned his matches with a late attack, it was – just like three years earlier – a six-man battle for the win. Cosnefroy was the fastest in the sprint, beating Teuns, Wellens, Blackmore, Cepeda and Hermans.
