Stage 10 and 11 are identical. Both are extremely flat, although there is a difference. The Novi Ligure stage is longer – 220 kilometres – and it leads to the edge of the Po Valley. Yet, the result will be the same. A bunch sprint.
Again, the home straight is tailor-made for a fast finishers showdown. It is 2,800 metres long and sits on 7.5 metres wide asphalt.
Pascal Ackermann won two out of three sprints in this Giro. He powered to victory in the 2nd and rain-soaked 5th stage before he crashed heavily in stage 10. Arnaud Démare took the spoils ahead of Elia Viviani, while Caleb Ewan outgunned Viviani and Ackermann in stage 8.
