The riders leave Nola to tackle the first climb after almost 20 kilometres. The ascent to Arpaia is 6 kilometres long and the average gradient sits at 4%.
The riders move through the village to enter an undulating plateau of almost 30 kilometres. Then it goes downhill.
After a false flat climb the route continues onto the 16.8 kilometres circuit, which is ridden twice. The ascent to the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo is 4.2 kilometres and slopes at almost 5%. The Sanctuary lies 8.6 kilometres before the finish in Maddaloni, which goes virtually all downhill, except for the final drag to the line.
