The 104th edition of the Volta a Catalunya sets off on Monday, 24 March to finish on Sunday the 30th on the renowned Montjuic city circuit in Barcelona. The route takes in a mix of summit finishes, hilly stages, and an occasional chance for the sprinters. With the inaugural edition held in 1911, the Volta a Catalunya is the oldest race on the cycling calendar after after the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia. (Slideshow route/profile)
Tadej Pogacar dominated last year’s Volta a Catalunya. The Slovenian won four stages, plus the mountain, points and general classification. Mikel Landa and Egan Bernal rounded out the final podium.
