The Gran Salida of edition 80 of the Vuelta a España takes place in August 2025. The Spanish Grand Tour is rumoured to set off from Monaco, although a second foreign start in a row is historically unlikely, as La Vuelta used to be the least geographical adventurous of all Grand Tours. The 2024 edition begins in Lisbon, Portugal.
Another rumour was launched by Ciclismo a Fondo, stating that the 1st stage of the 2025 will be a short ITT for climbers at Gibraltar. Also unlikely, for the same reason as above, as Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory. If the Gibraltar Gran salida would materialise the 2nd stage is said to run from La Línea de la Concepción to Málaga.
The full route of the 2025 Vuelta a España is set to be revealed in December 2024.
