Tour de France 2018: Results

Geraint Thomas won edition 105 of the Tour de France ahead of Tom Dumoulin and Chris Froome. Peter Sagan took most stages, namely three, while Dylan Groenewegen, Fernando Gaviria and the maillot jaune himself won two stages. Moreover, Sagan took home his sixth green jersey, Julian Alaphilippe won the polka dot jersey, and Pierre Latour was the best young rider. (Slideshow route/profile)

Tour de France 2018 Stage 21: Champs-Élysées victory for Kristoff, Thomas pockets overall

The Tour de France's final stage is a traditional. Following a photo and champagne session on the bike the race boils down to eight fast laps on the Champs-Élysées. Alexander Kristoff sprints to victory ahead of John Degenkolb and Arnaud Démare, while Geraint Thomas crosses the line in yellow to win the Tour de France. The final podium is rounded out by Tom Dumoulin and Chris Froome.

Tour de France 2018 Stage 20: ITT victory Tom Dumoulin, GC victory Geraint Thomas

The last test for the GC contenders is a hilly individual time trial in the French part of the Basque Country. Tom Dumoulin powers to the win ahead of Chris Froome and Geraint Thomas. The Welshman wins the GC, while the podium will be rounded out by Dumoulin and Froome. Primoz Roglic is knocked off the podium and drops to fourth place overall.

Tour de France 2018 Stage 19: Roglic solos to victory, Thomas regains yellow

The Tour de France's Queen Stages travels over the Aspin, Tourmalet, Bordères, Soulor and Aubisque to end with a fast descent into Laruns. Landa, Bardet and Zakarin strike as early as the Tourmalet, but they are brought back on the Aubisque before Roglic strikes. He opens up a gap on descent and solos to victory. Froome drops behind the Slovenian, who now sits in third. Thomas is still leading La Grande Boucle ahead of Dumoulin.

Tour de France 2018 Stage 18: Arnaud Démare sprints to victory, Geraint Thomas safely in yellow

The Tour de France's 18th stage is a rolling affair with a flat finish in Pau. Arnaud Demare sprints to victory ahead of Christophe Laporte and Alexander Kristoff. Geraint Thomas finishes safely in the bunch and regains the yellow jersey.

Tour de France 2018 Stage 17: Mountain victory Quintana, Thomas wins time - Froome drops behind Dumoulin

The Tour de France's 17th stage features 3,126 vertical metres in merely 65 kilometres. Following two intermediate cols Nairo Quintana heads out alone early on the Col du Portet and climbs to victory. Geraint Thomas puts 9 seconds into Tom Dumoulin, who now sits in second as Chris Froome loses time in the final kilometres of the 16 kilometres haul up to the line.
