Tour de France 2018 Stage 21: Champs-Élysées victory for Kristoff, Thomas pockets overall

The Tour de France's final stage is a traditional. Following a photo and champagne session on the bike the race boils down to eight fast laps on the Champs-Élysées. Alexander Kristoff sprints to victory ahead of John Degenkolb and Arnaud Démare, while Geraint Thomas crosses the line in yellow to win the Tour de France. Race report
Retiring record holder (18 appearances) Sylvain Chavanel is the first rider to enter the Champs-Élysées before Taylor Phinney, Silvan Dilier, Damien Gaudin, Nils Politt, Michael Schär and Guillaume Van Keirsbulck attack with more than seven laps left. They widen the gap to 50 seconds, but are brought back in the last round.

Daniel Oss and Yves Lampaert strike with 2 kms to go before the Belgian goes alone. He pushes hard, but is brought back with 300 metres remaining. In the ensuing sprint Alexander Kristoff outguns John Degenkolb and Arnaud Démare.

Geraint Thomas finishes safely in the bunch to win his first Tour de France.
