The first 20 kilometres are as flat as a curling rink. Then the riders tackle a 2 kilometres climb at 7%. Following a brief stint on the flat the route continues to go up for a bit before the climbing is done with 65 kilometres remaining.
The Giro Donne finishes at one of the largest squares in Europe, Prato della Valle in Padova.
The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds.
