Giro Donne 2022 Route stage 3: Cala Gonone - Olbia

Giro Donne 2022 stage 3Saturday 2 July - The 3rd stage of the Giro Donne is the last one on Sardinia. The route between Cala Gonone and Olbia adds up to 113.4 kilometres.

The route includes several sectors uphill, but on balance the riders go downhill more often. Take for instance the opener. The first 20 kilometres are virtually all on descent.

After moving through holiday paradise Orosei the riders follow the jagged and stunning coastline to the north. It’s not entirely flat, it’s rolling terrain – in fact, perfect for a bunch sprint.

Olbia was the end station of the 1st stage of the 2017 Giro d’Italia. The men came from the other side. While each and everyone was getting ready for a spinters showdown, Lukas Pöstlberger sneaked away to steal the pink jersey with a cunning late attack.
