The first time gaps will be opened up on the first day of action. The Tour Colombia kicks off with a flat team time trial in Medellín. Arguably, Team Sky is the team to beat. Their line-up is impressive with strong time trialists such as Chris Froome, Egan Bernal and Jonathan Castroviejo.
Following three chances for fast men the route becomes more lumpy on the fifth day, but in terms of GC it probably all comes down to the Queen Stage on the last day. The race concludes with a climb up the Alto de las Palmas, which is a 15.6 kilometres ascent with an average gradient of 6.7%. The last full kilometre before the summit slopes at 9.1%, so that is a perfect spot for a decisive blow.
Egan Bernal is the defending champion. Nairo Quintana was the 2018 runner-up, while Rigoberto Uran finished in third.
