Race report
The riders blast out of the blocks at full speed and it takes around half an hour for the breakaway to form. Then Matis Louvel, Dries De Bondt and Cole Kessler join forces, before Johan Jacobs and Frits Biesterbos quickly bridge across to them.

Roger Adrià and Storm Ingebrigtsen take considerably longer, but after around 60 kilometres they too manage to close the gap to the breakaway. The seven reach a maximum lead of roughly 4 minutes.

Around halfway, Tim Wellens falls victim to a crash. The Belgian champion is unable to continue.

The breakaway’s lead drops below 2 minutes as Paul Magnier suffers a puncture on the cobbles of Mont Saint-Laurent. At the front of the peloton, the likes of Jasper Philipsen, Matej Mohoric and Laurance Pithie up the pace, forcing Jonathan Milan, Dylan Groenewegen and Arnaud De Lie to drop back. Gradually, their deficit stretches to over 1 minute.

Dylan van Baarle attacks on the Côte du Trieu, and Timo Kielich, Matej Mohorič, Daan Holle, Mikkel Honoré and Riley Sheehan go with him. They create a gap, but with 62 kilometres remaining, the remnants of the peloton catch up.

Not lang after, Van Baarle and Kielich try again, this time joined by Matthew Brennan, Nils Politt, Jonas Abrahamsen, Matteo Trentin, Carlos Canal, Héctor Álvarez, Johan Jacobs, Mick van Dijke and Matisse Van Kerckhove.

Shortly after joining the break, the peloton is back on their wheels with 52 kilometers to go. The race the remains unsettled with plenty of movement, but no one succeeds in escaping. And so it comes down to a clash of fast finishers.

In Kuurne, Christophe Laporte provides a perfect lead-out for Matthew Brennan, who seals the win convincingly. Luca Mozzato and Matteo Trentin finish a bike length back in second and third.
