Race report
A group of six riders jumps clear in the early stages of the race. Manuele Boaro, Julius van den Berg, Elmar Reinders, Dries De Bondt, Dimitri Peyskens and Thomas Sprengers race to a lead of 4 minutes.
De Bondt and Reinders win a time bonus of 5 seconds during the Golden Kilometre.
With 13 kms to go the six are reeled in before Jan-Willem van Schip strikes 3 kms later. The Dutchman is reeled in with 3.5 kms out.
In the ensuing bunch sprint Fabio Jakobsen outpowers Marcel Kittel and Caleb Ewan. The 21-year old Quick-Step rider is the first overall leader in the Binck Bank Tour.
