The flag is dropped in Sagliano Micca at 576 metres above sea level before the first 30 kilometres are a gradual descent to approximately 170 metres. When the riders are halfway through the race some minor uphills appear. The steepest incline lies just before Tollegno. The route descents into the village and then the final haul up begins. It is a gentle haul up, though, with gradients mostly hovering around 3 to 4%.
The finale is something else entirely, though. In picturesque Piedicavallo the riders tackle a steep climb to the line on narrow and cobbled streets.
