UAE Tour 2021 Route stage 1: Al Dhafra Castle - Al Mirfa
Sunday 21 February - The UAE Tour sets off from Al Dhafra Castle in Abu Dhabi. At 177 kilometres, the 1st stage travels on the flat to Al Mirfa, which also lies in Abu Dhabi.
The riders clip into their pedals in front of Al Dhafra Castle, 30 kilometres west of Madīnat Zāyid, a city with 30,000 inhabitants.
After moving through Madīnat Zāyid, the riders head north to arrive almost 80 kilometres later in Al Mirfa. Two 19 kilometres laps round out to the route
The opener of the UAE Tour is entirely played out in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The race never before finished in the small coastal village of El Mirfa.
The first thee riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while two intermediate sprints – at kilometre 64.4 and 138.4 – come with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
