Race report
The peloton is still bunched while approaching the first intermediate sprint. Which inspires Finn Fisher-Black, Corbin Strong and Jhonatan Narváez to go for it and they cross the lin in that order. Then it’s breakaway time. Georg Zimmermann and Louis Barré attack after 25 kilometres and open a lead of 2 minutes. Zimmermanne bests Barré to take the most bonus seconds in the second sprint, while Corbin Strong jumps away from the bunch to grab the remaining second.
The two attackers are swallowed by the bunch shortly after the second time up Menglers Hill.
Sam Welsford finishes off a strong lead out by Ryan Mullen and Danny van Poppel in the streets of Tanunda. Phil Bauhaus and Biniam Girmay come home in second and in third place.
