Although the 3rd stage at the Tour de Romandie is far from flat, it does not include any steep or long climbs either. With a vertical gain of 2,193 meter, the route is suited for Classics type of riders. A sprint finish for those with strong legs is not unlikely.
The climbing metres are scattered all over the route, but the ascents to Sorens, Vuisternens-en-Ogoz, Vauderens and Villars-Bramard stand out. The first one and the last one are 2nd category KOMs, while the other two are classified in the 3rd category.
The ascent to Villars-Bramard is crested with 12.5 kilometres remaining, but the uphills are still not quite done yet. Two more sections with shallow gradients lay waiting with the last one leading straight up to the finish line.
