Race report
Shortly after the start Dario Cataldo, Iljo Keisse, Kristijan Koren, Steve Morabito and Igor Boev jump clear to race to a lead of almost 7 minutes.
With one lap to go Cataldo is the last remaining escapee. The main group is close behind. All favourites are on board with the exception of Wilco Kelderman, who crashed twice and is out of GC contention.
Cataldo is brought back with 11 kms remaining, while Froome punctures 5.4 kms before the finish.
Adam Yates accelerates on the first of two last climbs to the line and distances the main group. He hits the steep final ramp 20 seconds ahead of the chasers. Lutsenko is chasing, but to no avail.
Yates pockets the win, while Sagan sprints to second place and Kwiatkowski comes in third. The Pole moves into the blue leader’s jersey thanks to 4 bonus seconds on offer for finishing third.
