Paris-Nice 2021 Route stage 3: Gien - Gien

Paris-Nice 2021 stage 3Tuesday 9 March - The 3rd stage of Paris-Nice is an ITT of 14.4 kilometres with start and finish in Gien. The route is flat to undulating, although the finish lies atop a 400 metres climb at 6.3%.

Gien is a town on the banks of the Loire river, roughly 150 kilometres below Paris. Pierre Rolland was born here 34 years ago.

The first 2 kilometres are flat before the route starts to run slightly uphill. On a wide road the riders climb 1 kilometre at 3.8%. On the flat the route continues until a nasty kick at 6.3% appears in the final 400 metres.

The intermediate check points is located at kilometre 7.

Last year, Søren Kragh Andersen won the Paris-Nice ITT on a slightly harder route of 15.1 kilomeres long.
