Giro 2020 Favourites stage 10: Wall dominated finale

The finale of the 10th stage in the Giro contains explosive material. The last 40 kilometres are a ceaseless succession of short and sharp ramps before the last kilometres are played out on the flat.

The first 115 kilometres are the calm before the storm. The route runs almost entirely along the Adriatic Sea. An uphill section in Cieti is good to stretch the legs, but the real action is centered in the last hour of racing. The team of Ulissi should control the race, as the finale is perfectly tailored for their leader. A lot of steep ramps that’ll destroy pure sprinters, while it is a playground for a more punchy type of rider.

The action starts when the riders enter the finishing circuit with 60 kilometres remaining. Straight away the riders enter a 3 kilometres climb to Tortoreto that ramps up to 15%. With that the tone has been set.
