The inaugural edition of the UAE Tour sets off from Abu Dhabi on Monday, the 25th of February 2019, to finish in Dubai on Saturday, the 2nd of March. The six-day race, which came into existence when the Dubai Tour and Abu Dhabi Tour merged, moves through alle seven emirates. The first was a race for sprinters, while the Abu Dhabi Tour used to be decided at Jebel Hafeet after a 10.8 kilometres ascent. The mountain is likely to be included in the UAE Tour also. The route of the UAE Tour will be unveiled in January 2019.
Elia Viviani won the 2018 Dubai Tour, while Alejandro Valverde took the Abu Dhabi Tour ahead of Wilco Kelderman and Miguel Ángel López.
