World Cycling Championships 2016 Doha, Qatar: Favourites TTT – men
Since the inaugural edition of the team time trial for trade teams at the Worlds in 2012, the race turned out to be either a party for Etixx-QuickStep or for BMC. Chances are it will be no different this time, yet, you'll never know. Cyclingstage.com take a closer look at the favourites to win the TTT in Doha.
The TTT for trade teams is in axistence as of 2012, so the 2016 edition is the fifth time the race is held. The first two world titles were won by Etixx-Quick Step, while BMC Racing Team prevailed in the most recent editions.
BMC seems to be the top dog as they not only are the title holder, the red-blue squad also won two major tests in the World Tour that were played out this season. Both in the Eneco Tour and the Tirreno-Adriatico BMC bested Etixx. The only other TTT in the Word Tour was in the Vuelta with Team Sky besting Movistar with the tiniest of margins – less than 1 second.
