Vuelta 2020 Favourites stage 9: Back to the fast men

On paper, we should expect a Sam Bennett-Pascal Ackermann clash, but young Jasper Philipsen is likely to have another opinion. The 22-year old from Mol, Belgium, already outgunned Ackermann once at the recent BinckBank Tour and he will be eyeing another win against the big boys.

Fabio Jakobsen could serve as an example. The Dutchman won two stages in last year’s Vuelta. Sam Bennet won the other two sprint finishes in 2019.

The first sprint finish of the 2020 Vuelta was won by Bennett ahead of Philipsen, Marceczko and Ackermann.
