Vuelta 2020 Favourites stage 14: Opportunity for attackers
The climbs are nowhere near steep. Neither are they long. But the lumpy terrain will wear the riders out, and the sprinters in particular. Which turns stage 14 in a perfect opportunity for attackers to be successful. (Slideshow route/profile)
Breakaway riders with fast legs are particularly well equipped to win the 14th stage. The last climb, Alto de Abelaira, is crested with 22 kilometres remaining, and the rest of the route is virtually flat.
A sprint of a small group is a likely scenario, although a late attack could also bring the bacon home.
The last kilometre in the streets of Ourense runs slightly uphill.
