Race report
Remi Cavagna breaks clear after 4 kilometres. Dylan van Baarle tries to bridge across with Guillaume Martin, Geoffre Soupe, Cyril Barthe and Max Walscheid, but without success.
Cavagna opens up a maximum gap of 3 minutes.
After the intermediate sprint Benoît Cosnefroy, Luke Rowe and Pierre Rolland bridge across to the lone leader. More riders rejoin the front of the race before they are brought back.
Attacks continue until Naesen, Van Avermaet, Sagan, Bauer, Rowe, Kragh Andersen en Bennett open up a gap of 1 minute, while Mezgec, Arndt, Stuyven and Trentin bridge across.
Trentin attacks on an uphill with 15 kilometres to go, while Kragh Andersen counters when the climb flattens out. The Dane opens up a comfortable gap and powers to triumph.
Roglic finishes safely in the bunch to extend his stay in the lead of the Tour de France.
