Race report
Bouchard, Bagioli, Orsini, Canola and Zardini open up a gap of more than 5 minutes before the peloton takes them on a leash.
Orsini is the last remaining attacker when the riders enter the final lap of 22.4 kilometres lap in Follinica. With 15 kilometres left the 25-year old Italian is brought back.
In the ensuing sprint Ackermann outguns Gaviria with a handful of millimetres, just like yesterday, although the sprint itself was totally different. Yet, the two Giro contenders are on fire, which is good news ahead of the Giro d’Italia.
