Pascal Ackermann and Caleb Ewan were the most successful sprinters in the 2019 edition. Both took victory twice. In 2018 and 2017 Elia Viviani and Fernando Gaviria were the fast men in charge with four stage wins.
The 3rd stage of the Giro d’Italia runs mostly along the shores of Lake Balaton. The race is not entirely flat, but the inclinations should not worry fast men – mainly false flat. So the route is tailor made for a fast finishers showdown.
