Looking at the height profile of stage 3 it must be hard for Marcel Kittel to suppress a smile. He is top favourite to win the Nijmegen-Arnhem stage, especially after outperforming his opponents in stage 2 the way he did. The German speed bomb doesn’t like to climb, well, he is being served with a course that’s almost all flat. Only at the 2.2 kilometres Posbank the road goes uphill, yet, only the last 700 metres are worth mentioning in that respect. Furthermore, the top is crested with 55 kilometres left to race.
The sprinters teams have all the time they could wish for to prepare for a sprint at the 14 kilometres closing circuit (that’s to be raced two times).
