The departure town of Giovinazzo is right next to the arrival town of Bari but it’s a 112 kilometre trek for the riders.

Giovinazzo is a stunning harbuor town, with the white buildings that Puglia is famous for. The riders head northwards, while Bari is 18 kilometres to the south. After 7 kilometres they arrive in Molfetta, another beautiful town typical of the south of Italy, and it’s there they turn left for Bitonto. Bironto is yet another of the famous white towns. The roots of Bitonto go back way to the beginning of the 4th century.

After another 11 kilometres the bunch arrives in Bari, a college town with a well preserved old centre, packed with churches, romantic squares and nice terraces. It’s a perfect destination for a city break , especially when the Giro arrives…

Upon arriving in the city of Bari,  9.6 kilometre local circuit awaits the riders. The course is very flat and presents another chance for the sprinters.
