Race report
Omer Goldstein and Loïc Vliegen attack early on to open up a gap of more than 3 minutes before the peloton takes the reins. The two are almost reeled in when Vliegen goes solo with 28 kilometres left, but of course the only result is a stay of proceedings.
Colbrelli and Aranburu battle it out for the stage win on the uphill home straight. The Basque has the upperhand initially, but the Italian grinds his teeth and overhauls him to take the stage win after two second places.
The victor misses out on the leader’s jersey by 2 seconds. Pöstlberger remains the man in yellow for one more day.
