Critérium du Dauphiné 2018

Critérium du Dauphiné 2018The 70th edition of the Critérium du Dauphiné will be held from Sunday the 3rd of June 2018 to Sunday the 10th of June. The race – dating back to 1947 – takes place in the Dauphiné region in southeastern France. For instance, this year’s penultimate stage runs to La Rosière and is identical to the 11th stage of the 2018 Tour de France. Furthermore, the ultimate climb in this year’s Dauphiné goes to Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc, where Romain Bardet propelled to victory and second place overall in La Grande Boucle 2016.

The 2018 Critérium du Dauphiné commences with a 6.6 kilometres prologue and the 3rd stage will be a TTT.

Jakob Fuglsang is title holder. The Dane climbed to both stage and overall victory on the ultimate day. He won the race thanks to a time bonus of 10 seconds, despite a strong chase by then leader Richie Porte on the closing climb to Plateau de Solaison. The Tasmanian finished the Dauphiné in second, Dan Martin in third.
