Possibly, Chloé Dygert is able to colour the podium differently. The 22-year old American is an avid collector of gold on the track, while she is a strong time trialist also. Last year she didn’t compete in Innsbruck, but two years ago – only 20 years old – she finished fourth in Bergen, Norway.
The last non-orange clad ITT World Champion is Amber Neben. In 2016, she powered to gold on the pan-flat course of Doha. A new rainbow jersey is unlikely though, as the American turned 44 last February.
The Innsbruck podium featured Annemiek van Vleuten, Anna van der Breggen and Ellen van Dijk. This scenario will not be repeated as European Champion Van Dijk is injured.
