The race opens on rolling roads. Nothing to worry about until 75 kilometres before the finish line. Then the gradients toughen up a little.
First on the climb to Gempen: 6.2 kilometres at 5%. Shortly after the descent the route crosses the line (in opposite direction) and the riders enter a lap of 55 kilometres. It features a 3 kilometres climb at 7% and with 20 kilometres to go the Challpass is likely to be pre-decisive. The Challpass is a 6.2 kilometres test with an average gradient of 5.5%, but effectually it comes down to the last 2.1 kilometres. This section goes up at 8.4%.
The summit of the Challpass is 14 kilometres away from the finish. Most of it goes downhill.
The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprints come with 3, 2 en 1 seconds.
