Tour de France 2022 Favourites stage 18: Last chance for climbers

Jonas Vingegaard Tour - Tour de France 2022 Favourites stage 18: Last chance for climbersfoto: Cor VosIf you're a bad time trialist and you want to move up in the GC, stage 18 is your last chance to do so. But it remain to be seen if a stage win is up for grabs. We highly doubt it, to be honest, as we opt for one of two names - Vingegaard and Pogacar. (Slideshow route/profile)

Following a short local lap in Lourdes the riders head for Louvie-Juzon and turn left to enter the Ossau Valley. The Pyrenees loom in the distance and shortly another lefthander leads them onto the Col d’Aubisque. They are 60 kilometres underway at that point. On the flat.

The intermediate sprint is situated at the base of the Aubisque and then it’s time for the last moutains. After the Aubisque (16.4 kilometres 7.1%) the route continues with a long descent before the riders enter the Col de Spandelles (10.3 kilometres at 8.3%). A 15 kilometres downhill takes them to the foot of the last climb of the Tour de France. The road ascends to ski resort Hautacam, is 13.6 kilometres long, and averages 7.8%.

Very useful stage info for TDF, images of the mountains in graph format show how evil H.C ‘s really are!! Rather them than me.
