Tour de France 2020 Route stage 5: Gap - Privas
Wednesday 2 September - The 5th stage on the Tour de France runs from Gap to Privas. At 183 kilometres, the race is likely to see a bunch sprint on an uphill false flat.
Gap is a regular host of the Tour de France. Usually, the town in the foothills of the Alps is included in the last week of action. Gap is a breakaway paradise with Matteo Trentin (2019) and Rubén Plaza (2015) bringing the early attack home in the most recent finishes.
However, this time the riders set off from Gap. The race moves through the beautiful Ardèche to finish in Privas, capital of the region. The finish lies at the end of a false-flat of 8 kilometre long.
The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds.
The race is expected to finish around 17.30 local time (CEST).
