Parallel to the sea, riders travel 4 kilometres, do a U-turn and return. They can eye up their closest competitors across the road on the way back.
Like the TTT of stage 1, power should beat technical ability. It’s only in the last km where riders handling skills are tested. At first a sharp turn to the right, heading towards the pier, then a light bend to the left, followed by a sharp turn, after which its full gas to the finish line.
The intermediate time control is at the U-turn.
Over such a short distance, a solid ride by the GC leader should see them remain in the leader’s jersey.
The first rider starts at 13:30 and the arrival of the GC leader is expected shortly after 16:00 (CET).
