Giro 2015 Stage 1: Orica GreenEdge wins, Gerrans in pink

The Giro 2015 is off with a team time trial in 17.6 kilometres. The race is won by Orica GreenEdge with Simon Gerrans taking the first pink jersey. Contador is the best GC-men, Aru second and Uran third. (Slideshow route/profile)

Race report
The only time checkpoint is after 10 km’s and it is in 10’43” Tinkoff-Saxo (Contador) passes there, the fastest time until now. Orica 10’45” while Katusha (Zakarin) makes it in 10’52”, Etixx (Uran) in 10’53”, Astana (Aru) 10’55”, and both Sky (Porte) and Lotto-Soudal (Van den Broeck ) 10’57”.

Orica finishes in 19’26” with Gerrans crossing the line first. He will be in pink tomorrow.
